Good morning! Are you starting to compile all of your goodies to donate to the Swap and Shop? Have you cleared your calendar for the morning of Sunday February 28th so you can come shop?? What are you waiting for?? Here are some important things to remember while getting ready for the Swap: 1. Those who donate at least 5 items will receive a wristband that will allow you to enter the event right at 10:00. Anyone who doesn’t donate at least 5 items will be allowed in at 10:15. I will be accepting donations between the hours of 8am and 5pm starting Monday February 22nd and ending Friday February 26th. *If items are dropped off at any other time other than those times listed, you will not be able to receive your wristband to enter the swap 15 minutes before those who didn’t donate!!* So please only drop off items during the posted drop off times! 2. Even if you have a wristband you should still plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the swap begins, as people generally line up pretty early. 3. I know it seems hard to believe, but *nothing* is priced on the day of the swap! You pay $5 at the door (all proceeds go to the Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry) and you can take what you want. We do ask that you be courteous to others and not take too much J 4. The $5 donation is only a minimum. If you would like to donate more to the Food Pantry, you may. Only cash will be accepted. 5. Please do not donate anything that it is not in good condition. Also, we do not accept cribs, carseats, or anything that wouldn’t fit in someone’s car. ISO Temporary Odd Jobs

My 21yo nephew is leaving for a training program in 2 weeks. In the meantime, he's looking for any temporary work or tasks that he could be of assistance with. Manual labor, clean up, anything that you may need extra hands or muscle for. He would like to keep busy during these 2 weeks until he leaves, and make a couple bucks. Hi everybody! From all the comments I hear in my store about this listserv, I thought it was about time I joined the fray. It only seems natural since so many of our customers are keeping in touch here, that I could keep you all updated with Smiley’s Pet Pad’s progress. As many of you know, we recently went through a makeover. I've been told over and over by my customers how nice the place looks. For that, a big shout out to my funders, anybody who spread the word on our behalf, my many volunteers who did the work, and my small staff, who really rose to the challenge. If you have not had the chance to check out our new look, please stop by. We have also revamped our supply on items we haven’t been able to keep up on in recent months, such as leashes, collars, pet beds, cat furniture and scratching posts, dog toys, and all kinds of USA-made dog treats and natural chews! We have this new look, lots of new merchandise, and I’m still adding new items as monies are available. (If any of you have suggestions for things you would like to see on our shelves, please let us know!) The wonderful funding I was able to raise unfortunately fell a little short, and my days are still shy of what we need to crack that nut. Our goal now is to attract NEW customers to our wonderful neighborhood store. We're using all the social media we can: Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, even Google+. I’m offering anyone who took the time to open this email, and is not currently a customer, a great deal to come in and give us a try. During the month of February, sign up with our Smiley's Savers club and receive a BONUS 25,000 points. Points can be used for discounts on any future purchase, and they never expire (unlike at Giant Eagle!) Here's some more good news, my landlords have finally, FINALLY put a guard in the parking lot. He just started a couple of days ago, and we have noticed that there a couple spots available most of the time, which is such a relief. We were getting daily complaints about the parking situation, so hopefully now it will be a little easier to navigate. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. We hope to see you soon!
