Pancake Breakfast this Saturday 2-13

There is an all you can eat pancake breakfast this weekend at St. Mary's Lyceum in Lawrenceville, on Saturday February 13, from 9 am to Noon. The address is 329 45th Street. The Lawrenceville Rotary is the organization holding this, and the Boy Scout Troop 343 will be volunteering to serve the food. This is a good breakfast that includes pancakes with real maple syrup (which is heated in a crock pot in addition to real melted butter), scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee and tea. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. They always have great baskets in the raffle, and do a 50/50 raffle. If you like food, this is a good place and time to get some. I will be there, in the kitchen, mixing pancake batter. It has been a great event over the past several years that I have been helping out. The food is very good and there is lots of it. It can be tough to find a parking space, but it is worth the walk from where ever you find a space. Bob

[Highland Park] Cub Scout shoe drive for Nicaraguan children (ends 2/3)

Hello Highland Park Neighbors! The Cub Scouts in Pack 343 in Morningside are conducting a shoe drive to benefit Nicaraguan school children. They are working with the Interact Club of Fox Chapel. If you have shoes that would fit 5-to-10-year old children and are in“gently used” condition, let me know and we can make arrangements to get them from you, or to have you drop them off. The final collection for these shoes will be on Wednesday (2/3). Rudy

Due to the second family lost in 12 weeks or so, our offices are going to be closed for the remainder of this week. I Apologize for any inconvenience or delay in returning any calls.
