Hello Neighbors, Two pit bulls were seen roaming loose without noticeable leashes or owners near the intersection of Stanton and Negley around 8:30 am this morning. Be careful when walking, especially when walking with dogs or children. If you see them, call Animal Control at 412-255-2325. If it is after hours and Animal Control does not answer, call the Public Works after-hours number 412-937-3871. Do not call 911 - they can not take the report. [Highland Park] Vandalism: Broken car window

Sent on behalf of Anna and Derrick Gaines Our minivan was parked in our driveway, facing the garage doors, on the corner of Grafton and Sheridan. Some time between 7pm Saturday night and 11am Sunday - someone ran up on our garage roof and jumped onto the minivan, smashing the front windshield and leaving footprints on the hood. We filed a report with the police who, at the time, had no other information to share about other incidents. Anna and Derrick Gaines

The Police Training Academy will be using the firing range, until 8:00 PM, from now until Nov. 9 (except F, Sat, Sun). So if you hear a lot of gunfire coming from the direction of Washington Blvd, thats the source: not to worry. -dk

[Highland Park] Attempted robbery

Thanks to our observant neighbors, we still have out two lawn mowers. Saturday afternoon around 3:15 two young men went into our yard (which is fenced in) around the back, opened up a lattice gate under the deck and tired to leave with our two mowers. They were on bicycles, which they left due to their new possessions. Our neighbors just happen to be looking out of their 2nd floor window and saw them walking out of the yard with the mowers. As they were asked why they were taking our mowers, their response was, "they're mine".... The one kid then took off while the other still casually walked down Portland St and turned onto Hampton St with one of the mowers. Our neighbors dog made him forget about "his" mower and he took off as well. The two bicycles were left in the yard, which the police assume they were stolen too. The front wheel of one bike looked as though it had been cut through to release a lock. The police has both bikes at their station now. If anyone is missing a silver mountain looking bike or a red 10 (?) speed bike with a cloth briefcase attached to the handlebars and a chain with a pad lock attached, check with zone 5. It is pretty sad when something like this can happen on a bright sunny Saturday afternoon. Talk about being brazen! Jean and Dave Boyer 1039 Portland St Have a wonderful day !!! Our fence was "tagged" last week and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced problems. We are on Wellston Way between Highland and N. Euclid. I don't suppose there is anything to be gained by reporting this to the police?

Someone vandalised several vehicles parked on the 900 block of Heberton St. My car had some letters spray painted on the trunk and the letters "LA" keyed on it. Another car's windshied was smashed, and three other cars were spray painted with letters. Called the police about it.

Just wanted to let folks know that tonight sometime between dark and 9:45 someone threw a brick through our car on the 6100 block of Bryant Street. The police were called. Am wondering if anyone else had problems tonight. They took nothing out of the car. LeeAnn Cica
