Anyone lose a black and white cat? My husband and I were startled to find a black and white cat sleeping on on back stairs Monday night around midnight because he looked so much like our beloved cat who just died a week and a half ago, except this one had a pink nose. When he heard us, he stood up and stared at us a while and then ran off. We live on Jackson near Heberton.

this is being sent on behalf of Jan Stayianos: Just a reminder that the program for the next HPCC meeting will be public safety, unfortunately Chief Costa has resigned since the plans were made and acting Chief Paul Donaldson is out of town on assignment. Good news is that Commander Maurita Bryant and Commander Philip Dacey of zone 5 will be our guest speakers. Also the Zone 4 & 5 combined-city wide public safety meeting is wednesday Oct 18th at 7 pm at St. Stephen's school at 134 East Elizabeth Street in Hazelwood, guest speaker will be Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.

I'm currently in the market for an inexpensive (hopefully around $3,000), reliable used car like a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla (but I'll consider other cars as well). Ideally, I'd like an automatic, decently well maintained, no major body damage, with mileage that's not astronomical (under 125,000 miles would be great). *Tony Norman* --Associate Editor and Columnist, Pittsburgh Post Gazette-- will be the featured speaker at the 9th Annual St. Andrew's Lecture, this Friday evening, October 20, 8 p.m. The title of his talk: "Confessions of a Middle Aged Columnist." Mr. Norman is known as a writer with an edge, a provocative and humorous and sometimes "take no prisoners" observer of matters social, political, and cultural. We look forward to an interesting evening indeed! Also: a traditional part of the St. Andrew's Lecture weekend is the opportunity to see the work of a local artist. This year's featured artist is Mary Roehrich. Her work will be on display in Brooks Hall during the Friday evening reception, and she will be our guest as well at the Sunday morning "Coffee and Conversation" hour, 10 a.m., at St. Andrew's Church. St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is located at 5801 Hampton Street, between N. Highland and N. Negley Avenues, one block south of Bryant Street and four blocks south of the park, in the East End Pittsburgh neighborhood of Highland Park. We have a ground hog who has taken up residence in our back yard, Decimated the vegies and has done a number on the shrubs, too. So, if some one is loaning traps, we need one, too. Email if you are so inclined. Thanks. Jean Clickner

Can anyone give some insights on the best way to appeal my real estate appraisal with the county. I went on their website and downloaded their instructions, but it's very confusing to me.
