[Highland Park] Election Party at Tazza D'Oro

Hi Everyone, Well it's finally here! PHEW! Tazza D'Oro will be having an election party on Nov 2nd beginning at 7:30 pm. As always, we will provide complimentary snacks and I think there are a few bottles of wine in the kitchen. You are also welcome to bring something to share. Thanks again to Pittsburgh Custom Home Theatre for providing us with the plasma TV. Check these guys out. They're from the neighborhood, they are a small business and their really good people. So, when you vote, bring in your voting stub and we will take 10% off all coffee and espresso bar drinks. If you don't vote, you will do dishes at Tazza D'Oro and open for us every morning for the rest of your life. We're not kidding either! [Highland Park] ALL SAINTS FESTIVAL BEGINS

The All Saints Music Festival at St. Andrew's Church begins Wednesday afternoon, November 3rd, at 5:30 p.m., with a traditional service of Choral Evensong sung by one of our region's finest children's choirs, the boy and girl Choristers of Calvary Church, under the direction of Dr. Alan Lewis. This event will be a wonderful opportunity for all of us, and most especially for those with younger children or grandchildren who enjoy music and who might enjoy hearing a children's choir singing at such a high level. St. Andrew's is located at 5801 Hampton Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, telephone (412) 661-1245. Festival events and services are free and open to the public.

[Highland Park] Political sign in the park

As entered Highland Park today for my peaceful morning walk, I was greeted by two large signs, both hand-painted on plywood with orange paint, the color commonly used in the construction industry. The first sign reads " One way" with an arrow pointing to the right. The second sign says " Vote Bush". My perception, which my be incorrect, is that they were put there by the contractor who is working on the fountain area. I called the DPW at 255-2365 to complain about it.
