[Highland Park] "Fundraising" Boys

I wonder how widespread this is. My teenaged daughter gave money to boys who were doing this on Forbes and Murray yesterday in th elate afternoon. From her description, it sounds like perhaps even the same kids. Their story was a mixed bag of raising funds for the Boys Club for football uniforms, that they had lost (perhaps they had run out of Yoga DVDs). Either these kids get around, or more distressingly, waves of such young men are working us in many different neighborhoods. (Gets to be quite high off the ground if you use a boxspring and pillowtop mattress, which is the reason we are giving away). [Highland Park] Wanted: Hay/Corn Stalks & Pumpkin Sale!

Hello Neighbors, Third Presbyterian Church is looking for donations of: hay and corn stalks (and anything else related) for our annual fall pumpkin sale! If anyone knows where I might be able to get some hay bails or corn stalks please email back or call the church office: 412.661.4710 We are also looking for volunteers to: unload pumpkins on October 13 beginning at 11 am (lunch included!) and to staff the patch during the sale This would be a great project for a girl or boy scout troop, a youth group, or anyone who enjoys the fall/outdoors! Sale Begins: October 13 Pumpkins will be sold through October 31 Generally hours are: 10-6 Monday - Saturday and 12-6 on Sunday There are extended hours closer to the 31st Prices range from $1.00 - $20, with many pumpkins in the $3, $6 or $9 range. There will be over 1,000 pumpkins to choose from! On Saturday October 27th There will be a Fall Family Event in conjunction with the sale! This event will feature activities for the kids, baked goods, cider, and a moon bounce! [Highland Park] House Tour Volunteers

Volunteers are STILL needed for the Highland Park House Tour! Date - Saturday, September 29th Time - 11am to 5pm Volunteer Shift #1 - 10:45am to 2pm Volunteer Shift #2 - 1:45pm to 5pm All volunteers will receive a free ticket for the house tour to use during the shift in which they are not working. Tickets are $15 pre-sale and $20 day-of-tour, so this is a great value for just giving up 3 hours of your time. We have 15 fabulous homes on the tour this year (plus St. Andrew's and Dilworth) and we would hate for any of our homeowners to have a bad experience because we can't find enough volunteers to work in their houses. At this point we only have enough people to have one volunteer per house, and that is simply not enough! Please help us make this great neighborhood event a sucess again this year!
