Come on out this Saturday from 1:00 til 7:00pm on Bryant Street for live music, art, food and children's activities! The Bryant Street Festival sponsored by the HPCC and Pittsburgh Fulton is an event for and by Highland Park people. There will be a moon walk, games, and face painting for kids. Our own Bryant Street's businesses such as Reynold's and The Smiling Banana Leaf will be selling food. In addition many other East End groups will be participating. LOST DOG Her name is Mochi (MOH-CHEE) or Angel (her previous name). We lost our black and tan Shiba Inu, about 17 lbs, in Shadyside Friday June 6th, at 6 p.m. on Filbert Street. She is mostly black with tan legs and facial markings and is still shaved underneath from being spayed. She is a very shy rescue dog and will not approach strangers or come when called, though she is attracted to other dogs and to grassy areas. She was last seen crossing 5th Avenue near Wilkins going toward Squirrel Hill, wearing a purple collar with a green ivy design and two red, heart-shaped tags (as seen in the picture) which have her rabies and phone/address information (she is up-to-date on shots, but does not have a microchip). IMPORTANT: This dog is most likely hiding in a nearby park or in someone's backyard. She almost never barks and will probably be under a bush or wedged in a dark corner or under a porch. The way to lure her out it is by having a female sit very quietly nearby with cheese cubes, but she *will* come to her mom, so do call if you see her! She appears to be very afraid of men. To all Highland Park Neighborhood Families: Pittsburgh Fulton School and the Highland Park Childrens' Committee will offer some exciting kids activities this Saturday during the Bryant St. festival: Kids Trading Flea Market (at the Walnut Market parking lot) Bring toys/games/books you no longer need and trade them for things you want!! Please make sure items are in good condition and no pieces are missing. [Highland Park] Looking for a petsitter next weekend June 19-22

I know there was just recently a list of neighborhood pet sitters posted to the list serve, but I haven't had much luck getting a hold of those people. I'm going away next Thursday the 19th - Sunday the 22nd and looking for someone to watch my dog Linus. The arrangement I had fell through which is why this is a little last minute. He is a 3 year old 1/2 lab 1/2 saint bernard and he's very sweet. he gets along well with people, kids and other dogs. he's house trained and well behaved. i'm probably looking for someone who would take him in their house for those days, or at least stay here. perhaps there's someone in the neighborhood that loves dogs but isn't necessarily a professional pet sitter? or a family i could exhange babysitting hours for? i'm a well respected babysitter in the neighborhood. please let me know as soon as possible if this might be something of interest to you. thanks. kelly
