A highlight of Lent 2016 here at St. Andrew's Highland Park will be a Sunday Afternoon Lecture Series, "Christian Lives and Christian Life," presented by our Priest Associate, the Rev. Dr. Philip Wainwright. Phil Wainwright--Ph.D in Church History, University of Kent (U.K.), Episcopal Campus Minister at the University of Pittsburgh--offered a series a couple of years ago entitled "Our Anglican DNA," discussing the theological and historical narratives that lie behind contemporary Anglicanism both here, in the Episcopal Church, and in the world-wide Anglican Communion." Our series in 2016 will to some extent build on that question--broadening the focus to some extent beyond an exclusively Anglican conversation, but still asking the questions, "who are we, and what are the influences over history that have shaped us?" In "Christian Lives and Christian Life" Phil will us his compelling and interesting storytelling ability and thoughtful and good-humored "historian's perspective" to paint pictures of the saints and heroes--some well-known, some more obscure--whose lives have influenced the larger narrative of faith and who might give us some clues about how to address the kinds of questions that Christians in our own day will inevitably face. There are four sessions: We begin this coming Sunday, February 14th, at 4:30 p.m., in Brooks Hall. The presentation and discussion will be about an hour and a quarter in length. And then those who so desire are invited to "hang around" for conversation over pizza and salad. The same schedule will be repeated on February 28 and March 6th and 13th. While it would be great to attend all four programs, they are designed to be relatively "free standing," and if we were to need to miss one (or more) along the way, it will be easy to catch up on the thread when we return . . . . Looking for Reliable Babysitter

Hi Neighbors, I'm looking for a RELIABLE babysitter for 2-3 days/week for about 4 hours per day for my 19-month-old daughter. The ideal schedule would be Tuesdays, Fridays and possibly Saturdays from roughly 2:00-6:00 pm. This exact schedule is not as important to me as reliability is - once a schedule is set, I need the person to be there as promised. As you can probably guess, I've been burned in the past. Most likely my daughter will be asleep for a good portion of the time, so I just need someone fun and vibrant to engage her for the 2 or so hours that she will be awake.
