One bad pumpkin...

Dear Neighbors, We have been so encouraged by the house renovations in our neighborhood! People are mowing their grass, picking up litter, painting their houses, even putting out lovely decorations! Have you seen the pumpkin at the corner of Jackson and Mellon: a horse carved into it! We decided to join the crowd and put out pumpkins as well as a wooden "pumpkin man" this year. It lasted two days. Some vandal threw our five large pumpkins into the street and smashed our little pumpkin man; and they smashed the lovely horse pumpkin up the street. It is, after all, the "city." This is a note both to thank those of you who are doing such a wonderful job of making this a great place to live, and also a caution that we still live in "the city." Thank-you to my neighbor, Mike Kelly, for picking up my pumpkins and gathering the pieces of my pumpkin man. "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
