Dear neighbors, I will be giving away violet corms this spring. If you have a spot that you need to have filled in, Sun to partial shade, please keep this in mind. I will be digging in mid April. Also, probably some Snow in Summer, and some myrtle. I am being over taken! Please do mot ask me to make a reservation of plants or to remember who you are. At a little after midnight tonight, a stocky young black man (late 30s?) rang my bell and said his name was Kenneth. He was speaking rather incoherently. He was talking about some bar in Shadyside and then mentioned the Shadow Lounge. Then he said he had called the police but all they would do was take a report and that they were not allowed to take anyone in their vehicle. He then said something about his wife and nephew being with him (we saw no one else) and that all he needed was 90 cents for the bus. I told him I had no cash, and I did not know him and it was after midnight so I was NOT going to open the door. We reported it to the police.
