Hello again all!There are 6 spaces left for the worm composting class being held this Saturday. Do you live in an apartment and wish you had a way to compost? Or do you have a beautiful garden and wish you could fertilize it for free? Garfield Community Farm is hosting a vermicomposting (worm composting) class on Saturday, July 28 from 9 AM-10:30 AM at the corner of Cornwall and Wicklow Streets in Garfield Heights. Learn how vermiculture is an easy and low maintenance way to compost and create high quality fertilizer. “But won’t it smell?” Nope, not if you’re doing it right.“Won’t the worms escape?” Worms prefer the warm, dark, damp bin and won’t make a run for it.“I have other questions!” Sure thing, come out to this class and we’ll talk about it. Required materials (please bring with you to the class as these items are not provided):- A worm bin (if you’re buying something new, look in the “storage bins” section of the store). Ideal size is approximately 18 inches wide, 16 inches long, and 16 inches deep. You can go larger than this, but not significantly smaller. Must have a lid.- Shredded newspaper. Can be shredded by hand, with an approximate width of 1 inch. Cross cut paper shredding is not recommended. Please note: newsprint only. No shredded junk mail (the paper is different). Optional item:- Rubber gloves. You will be touching worms and their castings. Hand washing facilities will be available. Provided materials:- Worms! Hi Neighbors! I'm fortunate to be heading out on an overnight kayak trip next month, but I am without a few essential gear pieces. I'm curious if any HP'ers have dry bags of any size that they might feel comfortable lending out? I'll offer basil from my garden in exchange for the loan! This is for the second week in August. Hello: I was walking on Elgin & noticed a boxer or pitt bull wearing a pink collar with ID tags. She was roaming the sidewalk and street without an owner. Hey Neighbors! I am lending my extensive car washing skills out in order to help fund a trip later this summer. I'm posting this again to try to get some more last minute customers. I will wash your car, rims, tires, exterior glass and hand dry the whole thing in roughly an hour. Typical price points are: Coupe/Sudan: $20 (Complete Exterior Detail Only). SUV/Truck/Van: $30 (Complete Exterior Detail Only). I will also be able to and do offer complete and extensive touch ups on the interior of your car. This is great for those of you who practically live in your cars from commuting to and from work, have young children, pets, etc. Give me a call and lets schedule some time for your car to get a little make over. [Highland Park] In need of a refrigerator repairman

Hello Again Neighbors, I am once again calling on my neighbors for help. Our freezer stopped working over the weekend and we suspect it is the compressor. The manufacturer's warranty only covers replacing the actual part, so we are in need of a trustworthy repairman that can asses the problem and most likely replace the compressor. Thanks in advance! I also want to thank all the wonderful neighbors that so generously offered to give me fabric.
