[Highland Park] Recommendation for DT Contracting and Finishing - Superior Service and Work

As many of you already know, remodeling can be a very stressful time for a homeowner. Not only is our life and home disrupted but we are busy keeping a careful eye on the work being done. I just went thru some updating in my home and my contractor was so remarkable to work with that I had to take the time to write and recommend him. His name is Derek Tierny from DT Contracting and Finishing. First and foremost, the quality of his craftsmanship is impeccable. He pays very close attention to the details, be in miter cuts or a finger print left behind. He installed new floors for me and with our old homes in Highland Park, this is not an easy task. Patiently he cut the boards precisely and made it all fit as though it were a perfectly square room. It looks fantastic. He is tenacious and would redo whatever it was until it was done right. While his work quality is outstanding what made this home update go smoothly for me, the homeowner, was working with him. He has a very calm temperament and great attitude. He takes great pride in his work and what he’s putting his name on. Having a small home turned upside down during an update was trying enough but he took extra effort to ensure that living thru this was as easy as possible for me. He cleaned up every night. He protected my household items and valuables. He ensured materials weren’t in my pathways. He communicated daily to me. He engaged me on issues and decision making points. When I had questions he was always available to talk and never rushed me. Most importantly, he proved very trustworthy. I have to say that the four weeks flew by and I am beyond pleased with his work. If you’re looking for recommendations for updating, remodeling, or renovating your home, I strongly encourage you to give Mr. Tierny serious consideration. Ikea glass drafting table/craft table for sale $50 OBO Buyer must pick up. Please see attached four photos. This is a table from Ikea, in great shape with wheels that lock into place. The glass top comes off for easier transportation. The measurements are 37 1/2" by 55 1/4". It is 27 3/4" in height. We live in Shadyside, right off of Ellsworth Ave, near Target, for pick up.
