[Highland Park] Kombucha scoby/mother

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone in the area brews their own kombucha and maybe has an over-grown scoby/mother they would like to part w/ a portion of. I already tried contacting the Mazzettis but got no response. I know there's Red Star, but since they're trying to make money off their kombucha I'm not sure they want to sell their scoby to someone so that person can brew her own (similar w/ Mazzetti). I know I can order them online, but seems better to get it locally if possible. Would prefer a scoby from someone who has taken care to keep molds out of their batch so I have less to worry about in that regard. Thanks, Meg

Hi All: I'm looking for a place to get my hair cut as well as my 5yo son. They can be 2 different places as he does fine with a barber cut, whereas I tend to like a little more styling. Hoping for under $15 for him, under $30 for me. Anyone have good experiences with particular barbers/stylists? My son's really good in the chair, so it doesn't need to be a place specific for kids. I am a 24yo female looking for work as a babysitter, primarily during the week, during daytime hours, between 7am and 4pm. - I have tons of experience in babysitting infants from days old, all the way to age 12 or 13 years. Most of my experience is with caring for smaller children and babies. - I am comfortable with preparing small meals, bathing, and many other daily tasks involved in caring for small children. As far as infants, I have intense experience in bathing, changing diapers, preparing bottles and feeding, burping, allowing "tummy time" daily, etc. as well as dealing with babies with gas, teething babies, etc. - I have completed classes on Child Development and other similar classes related to the care of children. Hello, If your house is overtaken by houseplants or if you can't overwinter any of your outdoors plants, I am happily accepting donations. If you are thinning out your perennials, I can take those too! I am also looking for cuttings to propagate over winter. I am new at gardening so if you have anything interesting that is hardy, I would appreciate it. My first year at building a potted garden turned out fabulously and all of my neighbors have begun to follow suit. Shrubs, seeds, indoor/outdoor plants , pots, anything that can lend to the transformation of the yards at the lower end of Sheridan would be greatly appreciated. Neighbors, The Highland Park Neighborhood email list currently runs in a data center in Newark, NJ. If that data center loses power due to the hurricane the list will be unavailable. I hope there is no outage, but I wanted to let you know in advance since if the server does go down it would be a little difficult to get a message out. Right now Newark has a high wind warning in effect from 6 am Monday to 6 pm Tuesday. Power outages are expected and could last a couple of days. Any data center will have generator power but since the storm is expected to cause a lot of damage, an outage seems possible. We're supposed to have high winds from noon Monday to noon Tuesday so it's time to batten the hatches here too. Stay safe, Rudy
