Hey neighbors! I am in need of a lot of small plastic bags for work and we are running out of our stockpile of them at the office. That being said, does anyone have any of their P-G/Trib/NY Times bags that the newspapers are delivered in available to give to me? I'd like to pick them up tonight or tomorrow morning if possible, and people can just leave them on their porches. Any bags I don't use will be given to dog owners (at the office) or recycled. [Highland Park] Yard Debris Pickup November 10th

The Fall debris collection by the City will be happening on Saturday November 10th. The city will pick up leaves bagged in paper bags and branches tied together in small bundles. Since the trucks can be around early in the morning, you need to have your debris out on Friday night. [Highland Park] Volunteer musicians wanted-especially TENOR!

We are a friendship-based social group that rehearses and performs for the teamwork, camaraderie and joy of music, not for money. We are a very small semi-professional choral group, and we sing an eclectic variety of mostly secular and some sacred music. We perform in assisted living, shelters, and other venues, etc (e.g. Pittsburgh Public Market, Bryant Street Festival, among others.) We're still in search of the elusive tenor! Why are they so hard to find? How about even a baritone willing to push your limits? We also could use an accompanist, and possibly a second soprano. See our website: www.friendsinharmony.net A car or ride is necessary, and you must be able to sing or learn to sing in a trained style. Sight-singing ability is a plus, but free vocal coaching and/or sight-singing training can be provided. Must have passion for the project, and be committed to making a team with winning chemistry, both musically and personally. We rehearse Monday evenings, usually in Highland Park and occasionally in Squirrel Hill, September through June; sometimes Highland Park over the summer. Highland park residents, As you all know I have spoken about Who's Your Brother the non profit who helps people in need in the Pgh area many times on the HP email. I wanted to invite you all to attend the Who's Your Brother Toy Drive Event on Thurs Nov 8th 6-9 pm at Shadyside Honda on Liberty Ave in Bloomfield. There will be free food and prizes, 3WS radio Dj will be there along with live jazz music - donate a new unwrapped toy or cash contribution. Please invite anyone you like and make it a fun afterwork event. We would like to print name tags ahead of time so we have a rough count but will have some for last minute additions if you add someone. Hi neighbors, I'd like to recommend a professional tree trimmer. I figured with the storm and time of the year, some folks might be in need of such services. We recently had J. Emmerling Tree Service trim and take down a number of very large trees on our property. He was extremely efficient, professional, and careful.
