Hello, it's me again, cat foster mommy looking for a home for another foster cat! This guy is about three years old, and a beautiful jet black. He was a semi-feral/stray and I've worked for a few months to socialize him. He's come a long way, but would need a home with some patience so he can continue to come out of his shell. Dear Highland Park residents, My name is Jeffrey Dorsey and I am the new Program Manager at the Union Project (also known as the marathoner who stopped to dance the Conga, or was it the Marengee, on Bryant St. Sunday??? :) Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself. Since I will be attending the HPCC meeting on the 21st at 7PM, I thought I would take this chance to invite you to some of UP's programming taking place this weekend. Friday- UPWORDS FEATURING NOHORONA AND MCDERMOTT – MAY 8 AT 7:30PM UPWords is a monthly reading series held on the 2nd Friday of every month (September thru May) in the Union Project’s Atrium. Doors open at 7pm and event begins at 7:30pm. This free event features both local and nationally-acclaimed writers. Hello Members, I remember a few months ago a lot of vehicles were being broken into. A few nights ago someone must have went into one of our cars and stolen our CD face plate, and CD's. there was no harm done to the vehicle. Unfortunately it was open. Just a note to neighbors to be careful! I am assuming these folks are out on the prowl again, or someone new is out there breaking into cars. Francine M. [Highland Park] Dog Sitter

Hello Neighbors, I am getting married this summer and looking for someone to house sit/dog sit for our two pit bulls. We will be gone for 10-12 days in June and I just hate to send them to the kennel for all that time. They are very good dogs who just need someone to feed, water, and love them. You would not have to walk them, if you just let them bake in the sun for a while each day, the sun will take care of sapping their energy! Ideal would be someone who could stay at our house for the duration, we have internet and cable which you would be welcome to use. Let me know if you or someone you know might be interested, thanks! Everyone, I realized belatedly that many of the responses came directly to me, so I want to fill in the List that there were a number of people who actually saw fireworks around that time. It was about 12:40 or so, so we actually were asleep. So, it WAS fireworks, and WAS NOT gun shots. The police were called and were spotted about 10 minutes after the call. I did not hear if anything came from that. Thank you very, very much to the many people who took the time to respond to me, and I will apologize now for not responding to each of you individually when you emailed me directly, but I think I would be on email for the rest of the afternoon if I did so!
