Everyone, I realized belatedly that many of the responses came directly to me, so I want to fill in the List that there were a number of people who actually saw fireworks around that time. It was about 12:40 or so, so we actually were asleep. So, it WAS fireworks, and WAS NOT gun shots. The police were called and were spotted about 10 minutes after the call. I did not hear if anything came from that. Thank you very, very much to the many people who took the time to respond to me, and I will apologize now for not responding to each of you individually when you emailed me directly, but I think I would be on email for the rest of the afternoon if I did so!
