Earlier this year, I posted a survey on the list-serve to enlist your help for a class project on Highland Park. As promised, I am now posting the results of that survey. Many of you had some wonderful ideas on ways to improve an already great park. Recommendations included: posting a park map and updating trail markers; improving pedestrian safety at the park entrance; beautifying, cleaning and restoring various areas of the park; increasing variety and access to activities; increasing community programming; and increasing safety at night. Some of the most frequently requested recommendations were adding an off-leash dog area and increasing bathroom access. If you'd like to read the full report, I have uploaded the group paper that was submitted for the class to http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ddb29twh_0ft3q5hfz . The recommendations in the paper will be compiled with information about other Pittsburgh parks and submitted to the Parks Conservancy. Recommendations from this paper will not necessarily be in the final report. I want to thank everyone who took the time to complete a survey and those of you who allowed us to interview you at the park. On another note, if anyone is looking to hire an MSW with a degree in social administration and human services management, I am available! I'll hold off on posting it to the general public, but I'd be happy to share my resume with anyone who knows of an opportunity. Thanks again, Colleen
