Greetings Everyone! I have been asked by a few people how they might be able to help with the Reservoir of Jazz 2004, and at the time I said I would let everyone know. Well, It's time... 1. I have well over 5,000 fliers to get the word out about our event/dates, which by the way starts next Sunday! I need people to contact me for fliers to take out to neighborhoods... take them to places like coffee shops, food joints, anywhere we can. We missed the city's booklet this year because their deadline is so early and we didn't know if we would get the grant til later on in the year. If you are at all interested in fliers you can pick them up at my house at 6012 Bryant St. Just let me know how many and where they are going so we don't double up. 2. I also need people up at the concert site to help set up and take down stuff each week. If you can lend a hand please contact me via e-mail or phone: 412-661-4054. 3. All the Best Catering Co. will be at our event selling food...so please note that there will be food there to purchase if you don't want to worry about packing something. 4. The Crystal Radiance Wellness Studio on Bryant St. (which is unbelievable by the way I had a beautiful experience there, fantastic message...) will have massage chairs at Reservoir of Jazz to give rub downs so think about giving back to yourself a little while listening to JAZZ! 5. [Highland Park] Mellon Street Multi-Family Yard Sale

Hello Neighbors All those who know me know that I am a pack rat, who bought a house owned by pack rats. I have so much stuff, and I have had trouble parting with it. Well I finally had a break-through and I am getting rid of "stuff". I realized I have a problem and that is the first step! So I invited my 4 sisters over, and they told me what to keep and what to get rid of. And I am having a yard sale to get the stuff out of my house. I convinced 5 other neighbors to join me, so we are having a yard sale on SUNDAY, JULY 25th from 8AM to 4PM. The sales are all on the 900 block of Mellon Street. It should be a great time. One of my neighbors informed me that she has never had a yard sale in her life! So come on down and check out all the stuff we have on Mellon Street. Come and visit me at 931Mellon and say hello. ( I will be selling the stuff that I have, the stuff that was in the house I bought 6 years ago, stuff that my family brought over, and stuff I collected from your trash. Recently I have received emails about the stone wall on Bunkerhill Street, the need for repairs, and who to contact about getting the repairs done. Below is a list of numbers that you can call to see if we can't get the City to fix this wall. The Mayor's Service Center is the first place to call (for this and most other issues). [Highland Park] Weekly Walks in the Woods

On Wednesday I plan to participate in the free "Weekly Walk in the Woods" sponsored by Venture Outdoors (formerly Western Pennsylvania Field Institute) and the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. In the past, the walk has lasted about 1 and 1/2 hours and has included activities such as identifying plants and park features and discussing park history. This time I'll bring a list of flowers to be planted around the reconstructed fountain and drawings showing what the final result will look like. I hope to see you there! Every third Wednesday during the summer the walk starts in Highland Park at the North Highland Avenue entrance at 6:30 pm. The walk is free, worthwhile, and not too difficult--there are some steep steps and some mud, but most of it is pretty easy. There are walks in the other City parks as well--one each week. In months which have 5 weeks, a walk is scheduled at Washington's Landing on that last Wednesday of the month. [Highland Park] Caution: Damaged Wall May Be Hazardous To Your Children

I am planning to call Mr. Blankenship this week about the Bunker Hill wall: The damage seems to be spreading and more and more of the wall is coming down while we wait for the repair. I doubt that this wall is spontaneously falling. More likely kids are playing on it and causing more damage, which of course means that one of them is bound to become injured when the heavy stone blocks fall. Do we need to wait for a child to be crushed here? Can we at least put a barricade around the damaged area to protect the kids from the wall and the wall from the kids? I believe that this is an accident (and probably a law suit) waiting to happen... Lorraine Chesek. M.D. Greystone Drive

To all: I had a chance to speak to Dominick's daughter. They are still digging out. The funeral was last week and she said it was very nice. On the other hand, they are still shocked and trying to figure out how to get people their clothes, to clean up the paper and grieve. I asked about contributions. They said he had never mentioned anything. What would be the most help to them would a donation to the estate as he had MANY unpaid bills and that would really help. If folks can send me a check (made out to the Estate of Dominick T.
