[Highland Park] Plumbing/Sewer Line Cleaning/ Damp Basement Solving Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a plumbing/roto rooter type company to clean out our sewer/drain system? With all the recent rain we are getting dampness on the basement floor in the corner of the house where, just outside, there is a drain which disappears under the driveway, and I presume connects to the sewer system. We obviously know nothing about plumbing, but suspect that this drain in not draining properly and that subsequently water is sitting there and seeping into the basement. We've heard some horror stories (thousands of dollars of repairs, yards dug up, problem not fixed, etc.) Any experiences out there, good or bad, that we should know about before we proceed? [Highland Park] Gardeners east of Highland & north of Jackson

I walk my dogs up and down the hills on the streets east of Highland (Farragut and Sheridan) and north of Jackson (Wellesley, Bryant, etc). During these walks I have passed by gorgeous yards. [Highland Park] Turkey Attack

The strangest thing happened Friday in the park, and I feel like I should advise the community...As I was running in the park along Lake Drive, just coming down around the corner by the employee's entrance to the zoo, I spotted a tiny baby turkey running not two feet in front on me. And just as my instincts told me to get away from it because it's mother was certain to be around, a giant turkey attacked me. It came out of the woods on the embankment - which put it at head level with me. It flew right into my head, dug it's claws into my hat (thank goodness I had it on), and ripped the hat right off my head. As the hat was falling, I managed to grab it and swat at the turkey as it continued to attack me. I took off running as fast as I could and that thing was actually running after me - and keeping up. It chased me for a good 50 feet before it stopped and walked away. So, first of all PLEASE be careful if you're up in that area. It happened so fast that there was absolutely NO way I could have avoided it. There was no one around, and despite me screaming twice, there was no one to hear who could have helped had that thing actually hurt me. Secondly, who do I call to report this to? I'm sure someone who is responsible for the park should be informed of it, but I can't find a phone number on the website. Thanks, Rachel

[Highland Park] Walk in the Woods

Neighbors, Please join your fellow neighbors for a Walk in the Woods on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2008 at 6:30pm. We start and end at the fountain and walk in the woods as much as we can. The walk is fun for everyone including dogs and children but keep in mind that paths and steps can be uneven, and maybe even muddy if there is rain.
