I wanted to let everyone know about a VERY EXCITING upcoming event! On Thursday, November 4th at 7:45 at the Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall (in Carnegie), there is going to be a show: The Mystery of Edwin Drood. This is an INTERACTIVE show, with audience participation!!!! ALL proceeds go to the Steel City Softball League. Tickets are only $25, and include the show AND an afterparty (wine, beer, soft drinks and light food included). It is open to ALL AGES. Bring your friends! Bring your families! The League has really pushed to try to find family-friendly ways to raise money and socialize. Showing support for this event will go a long way toward opening up other family-friendly venues in the future. [Highland Park] "Handyman" - Recommendation

I want to let our everyone know what a great neighbour we have. Last week I asked via the list for handyman recommendations only because I wasn't able to get in touch with someone I've used in the past. One our neighbours responded saying that while he was in another line of business, he could do a lot of odd jobs and fix it type things and he'd gladly help me out. Well.....he stopped over today and replaced my dryer vent in about 20 minutes and showed me what was wrong with the old vent. He even made sure he dealt with some spiders he spied so I didn't have to shudder or shriek. He was so nice and even took a look at a few other things that could be fixed with a screw driver in the future. Since it was such a small job, he wouldn't give me a price to replace the vent and asked that I give him what I thought it was worth to have the vent replaced. Anyhow, I wanted to give him a recommendation to the neighbourhood because he's more than happy to do these small jobs. His name is Rick Nitkiewicz and can be reached at 412-780-9995. He's the owner of Ultimate Custom Painting and from what I've seen on his website and Angie's List - he and his staff are very accomplished painters and are highly recommended. I can attest that his demeanor was very professional even for this small job. I'll definitely be calling on him soon again!

Hello all, We are looking for recomendations of a good Chiropractor or Chiropractic clinic. Our experiance shows we've done better with practictioners who take a more clinical approach than those who utilize a homeopathic focus (that's not meant to be an editorial, just a reflection of comfort levels). Any additional info you can give to help us get a sense of how they work would be appreciated. A bonus if you can confirm that they are covered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield! Not unrealated, we are also looking if anyone knows of a good massuse practiced in Ashiatsu (oriental bar therapy).
