[Highland Park] 2 dogs found at Wellesley and Euclid this AM

Two larger dogs followed my neighbor home this morning. They are safe and fine. We called the Animal Control Service, who will be picking the dogs up around 8- 8:30 AM today and taking them to a shelter. These dogs are black and black and grey miix --- they look like an airdale or airdale-terrier mix weighing appx 55 pounds. Owners should call: 412- 255-2036 for information and pickup.

[Highland Park] STINGRAYS SWIM TEAM to practice at Highland Park this summer, starting Monday. Try-outs starting on 6/27

> Hi. The Stingrays Swim Team, which practices at the Kingsley Center during the school year, will be practicing at tHighland Park again this summer. Starting Monday, 6/27, any child age 6-18 is welcome to try out for the team. To join the team, swimmers need to: > -be able to swim at least half the length of the pool, > -be comfortable with their face in the water, & > -have a little bit of stroke technique. > > The Stingrays belong to USA Swimming, the national competitive swimming organization from which Olympic swimmers are drawn. The Stingrays are coached by Hosea Holder, a well loved mentor to many and master of stroke technique who has been coaching for over 45 years. He has been featured on WQED's "On Q" and in both the Post-Gazette and the Tribune-Review and he recently won an award at a major national swim competition in North Carolina for his contributions to increasing diversity within the sport of competitive swimming. > The cost of joining the Stingrays for the summer is $200 for swimmers with a valid USA Swimming membership and approximately $250 for those without. [Highland Park] Hooray for Good Neighbors - Burglary Suspect Apprehended

I wouldn't say it's a good idea to celebrate by leaving the back door unlocked and the street level windows open, but I am happy to report that thanks to my awesome downstairs neighbor, the Zone 5 police were able to apprehend a suspect who she saw prowling in our driveway on Sheridan. The subject is said to have matched the description of a suspect wanted for several incidents. -Jeff Guerrero

I have a book of (10) bus tickets that we no longer need, which were purchased last month for $22.50 at Giant Eagle. They are Zone 1. I'd like to get $20 for them and I need them to be picked up by Saturday morning. Also, I have an attractive white wooden crib that I am getting rid of because I'm moving and because it needs new hardware (the original plastic hardware has broken completely). There are some teething marks on the inside but other than that, it just needs a new set of hardware. I'm asking $25 for it and I need it to be picked up between 8 and 11 am on Saturday, June 18. The boys are at it again, selling lemonade to raise money for the Animal Rescue League! They've set up shop at the intersection of Wellesley and Euclid, and will be selling until about dinnertime (6-ish) today, Wednesday the 15th, and again tomorrow afternoon/early evening (between about 3 and 6, I believe).
