OK, One more time a free thing. The windows in our home are sliders, not double hung. So the window fan we have is of no use, at least for us. It is a double fan with sliding panels to close off the ends. Perhaps someone can be a little cooler given the heat of summer. Rich and Bonnee

[Highland Park] reporting crimes ... what good does it do?

"Make sure you file a report to alert the police. I don't know what good it does, but it is better than nothing." When I go to public safety meetings and the police are encouraging (begging!) people to report crimes, they emphasize that resources are allocated TO each Zone and BY each Zone based on reported crimes. If it's not reported, basically it didn't happen. So, our Zone doesn't need as many police officers and cars, and the ones we have don't need to patrol those streets where there is NO crime. pat

Dear Neighbors, My dentist recently retired and sold his practice. The new practice and I are not a good match as they seem to be more interested in whitening my teeth than anything else.
