Hi neighbors. My daughter, Abby, a (soon-to-be) graduate from Allderdice High School and an Environmental Charter School alum is looking for summer babysitting jobs. She will be available beginning June 21st for day or evening help. In addition to volunteering at the Rodef Shalom Family Center preschool over the last few summers and at The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh for several years, she has tons of experience babysitting kids and babies of all ages. If you or someone you know is looking for a sitter (one-off times or regularly), please give her a call. The City recruited 145 guards to open these pools. “We appreciate the community’s support in this year’s lifeguard recruitment efforts. We are encouraged with the growth of our team and being able to open 15 pools,” said Kathryn Vargas, Director, CitiParks. The pools that are planned to open are as follows: Ammon, Banksville*, Highland, Jack Stack, Magee, McBride*, Moore, Phillips, Ormsby, Ream, Riverview*, Schenley, Sue Murray*, West Penn** and Westwood. (*Banksville, McBride, Riverview and Sue Murray will operate on a 5-day schedule.) Pleased with the increase, Mayor Gainey said, “Director Vargas and her team worked hard again this year to ensure residents had pools open this summer. They have made great strides in onboarding lifeguards and opening more pools. I am proud of the work they have done for the people of Pittsburgh.” “Our priority is opening pools so that Pittsburghers can have a safe, fun summer! We hope that the continued growth of lifeguard staff in future summers will allow us to return to full capacity that would include offering additional programs such as learn-to-swim lessons, water aerobics and swim team,” noted CitiParks Director, Kathryn Vargas. Hydrangea

Hello! Looking for some advice on my hydrangea. This yer it is very slow to grow back, and there seems to be no growth from the old wood. I usually don’t cut it since I read that blooms come from old wood. But it’s never been this slow before. Any ideas?
