Firing range schedule for June

Hi All, Zone 5 alerted me that these are the current June firing range schedule is as follows: 7 - 9 AM and 4 PM 8 - 8 AM 12 -8 AM and 4 PM 13 - 8 AM and 4 PM 14 - 4 PM 15 - 8 AM 20 - 8 AM 21 - 8 AM and 4 PM As a reminder, we've been told by the mayor's office that people should call both 3-1-1 and 9-1-1 when there is shooting outside of "business hours" (8-5 M-F). These calls are very important because they document how often the range is being used outside of "regular" hours. If you're interested in testifying in front of City Council about the range's impact on the community and the park, I need a few more signatures for our petition to get a hearing. Used "Homer"-style buckets, plus

4 five gallon Home Depot and Lowe's buckets, plus 1 slightly smaller 14 pound cat litter bucket. No lids. They have been well-used in the garden and for masonry work, so they have dirt and mortar dust. Also a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in the bottom which worked great as a tomato planter. Last item: approx 1 gallon red lava rocks. Worked great in bottom of chiminea. Sidewalk pick up, first come, at 919 North Highland but in the rear, which is actually on Wayne Road.

Cooking Workshop-This Saturday!

Hello neighbors! Your local primary care doc here with another fun upcoming cooking workshop. If we haven’t met, I opened up a wellness studio --Rebel Wellness (www.rebelsinwellness.com) -- in January on South Highland Avenue. We have personal training, group fitness, yoga, and a plant-based teaching kitchen where I lead culinary medicine workshops. Our next #culinarymedicine workshop at the studio is this Saturday June 10th from 4-6 pm. Join me and Blake Watterworth, mental health therapist, for our fermented foods workshop. we will make and enjoy a plant-based dinner with dessert and drinks, make 2 types of fermented foods for you to take home, and learn about the ins and outs of gut health and mental health. Wall stones for sale

Hi Neighbor! I just finished building a raised garden bed with quality, natural colonial wallstone. There are many stones I did not use and they’re yours for $1 per small stone or $2 per large stone. Price negotiable. I would attach photos but my post hasn’t gone through three or four times when I’ve done so—so email me and I’ll send you photos. ugh, those enormous trees they just removed in the park :(

I am so disappointed that PWSA removed at least five enormous trees in the park, along Bunkerhill. When a guy from PWSA was presenting information about this work at an HPCC meeting a while back, I specifically asked about the impact to trees and he led us to believe that it was possible none would have to be removed. I guess this is just a general gripe. I plan to drop a note to PWSA and urge them to do more than a one to one replacement. Some of those trees had to have been at least 100 years old and you can't replace one of those with a tiny sapling.
