Free Filing Cabinets

Hello, We have five filing cabinets in the Bloomfield area that we are trying to give away. They are all in pretty good shape. All of them are 52" tall and 14.75" wide. But they are not all the same depth, two of them are 25" deep and the other three are 27" deep. The peach colored cabinet has a lock on it but it doesn't work. These are free but you need to haul them away. Please let me know via email if you are interested. Alternatively, does anyone know who might pick these up if there's no interest? We already tried the Veterans Association, but they are not accepting this type of item right now. Thanks, Juli

Advocacy request: COVID Vaccine Distribution Inequities

Hi neighbors, Your local family doc <http://www.gentilefamilydpc.com/> here again to rant. As some of you may be aware, the distribution of the COVID Vaccine from the state department of health has been nothing short of chaotic. My colleagues and I, as part of the Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh, along with Pitt medical students, and the Allegheny County Medical Society, have successfully and judiciously been vaccinating the public from the moment the state started getting vaccine. Several local, small pharmacies have been doing the same thing for our community, including Hilltop Pharmacy, Spartan Pharmacy, Wilson’s Pharmacy, to name a few. Now, since we are not one of the “big players” in this city ($$) we are being denied any more first doses of vaccine. Instead, the state is choosing to allocate it to the big healthcare institutions and retail pharmacies, in yet another display of being completely out of touch with what is actually working in the community. There is a large population of people who don’t have ready access to internet, cannot leave their homes, or have severe distrust of receiving this vaccine. I find it highly unlikely that moving vaccine supply only to large, intimidating institutions with phone trees and bureaucratic influence will help get vaccine in these most vulnerable arms. I have years of experience and all my own tools and transport etc, and have just started working for myself in the past year. I’ve been specializing so far in detailed trim installation as well as fixing stairs, doors, building shelves and railings, and panel walls, but am open to discuss pretty much any wood-based project or repair you have in mind. free Keurig mini
