I don’t normally buy them for my husband and me because we really don’t need sweets, but boy, it’s been a rough winter, has it not? a tree was cut down next to townhouse #1 on Aurelia st. There are heavy pieces of the trunk for free if anyone wants them. This is the street that runs along the Shakespeare giant eagle. The wood will be hauled away on Monday if no one wants it. Ginny

Free Wacom tablet and pen

Cleaning out my office, I found an old Wacom Intuous pen and tablet (model CTH-690, from probably 2015 or so). There's way better technology out there now but this could be a fun little starter tablet if you or your kid wants to get into computer graphics. You'll just need a mini USB cable and the driver from the Wacom website. Petition Signing Station for Judicial Reform Coalition Candidates

Hi Neighbors! Our local District Judge and Highland Park neighbor Mik Pappas is seeking a seat on the County Court of Common Pleas as part of a Judicial Reform Coalition that also includes attorneys Lisa Middleman and Nicola Henry-Taylor. Judicial elections are bipartisan and all three candidates are seeking the nominations of both major parties. In his time as our District Judge, Mik has reduced evictions in our neighborhoods by nearly 40%, eliminated the use of cash bail in his court, and helped our neighbors struggling with addiction or mental health needs get treatment as an alternative to incarceration. To get access to the ballot in the primary, each candidate needs to collect at least 1,000 signatures from eligible voters. To make that effort possible while still maintaining COVID precautions, there are 4 locations in Highland Park where signatures are being collected in a socially-distanced and safe way: 5901 Hampton Street 6111 Stanton Avenue 1014 Winterton Street 6530 Jackson Street Each location has instructions for how to sign. They send packages out very often - as they receive and collect enough items; Mr Pampena and his family pack the x-large size Home Depot boxes and ship them via UPS; all at his cost.
