Welcome former Highland Park resident Jess King back to Pittsburgh and hear about her vision for an America that works for all of us at the Union Project, 6:30 - 9pm, Thurs, Sept. 28. Help her flip a US Congressional seat from red to blue in PA’s 16th Congressional District - in South Central PA, including parts of Lancaster, Berks & Chester Counties. The event will feature Q&A time with Jess and remarks from Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto. Brief program at 7PM. Looking for a hypoallergenic dog

Hello Neighbors, Our children are hoping to adopt a "hypoallergenic" dog. We have cousins who have dog allergies so we need a dog in the hypoallergenic category so our cousins can still visit us. Hi Neighbors! We are participating in the Buddy Walk this Saturday. Our daughter, Sienna Mae Striner, was born in 2016 with Down syndrome. We were unaware of her diagnosis prior to her arrival. Nothing prepares you for that moment. We were terrified of the unknown. One of the most reassuring moments after Sienna's birth was learning about the community of people ready to welcome us. The resources available to our family are all thanks to the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh. We will be relying on help from the DSAP all of Sienna's life. Monarch update

Thanks, again, neighbors! Your offers of milkweed allowed me to do double duty when walking the dogs this morning. They got exercise, I collected leaves, and all the critters on Farragut were happy. I have all of the caterpillars in a mesh butterfly house so that I can ensure them having access to food. One of the ones I didn't manage to collect formed a chrysalis on my cleome plant. It was astonishing-I saw the little guy hanging in a J formation at around 315; when I looked again at 4:20, this is what I saw! Holy Moley, they are fast. As of now, I have my second caterpillar J in the butterfly house. I expect to see another chrysalis by the time I leave for work.
