Attached is your Community Crime Update for the week of February 15th-21st, 2016. Since we have several new subscribers to our list this week, I just wanted to reiterate a few things... 1) The CCU list all Homicides, Aggravated Assaults, Robberies, Burglaries, Arsons, Theft from Vehicles, and Theft of Vehicles. We will include other crimes if we notice a trend or if they pose a community safety concern. (We do not usually list crimes such as retail theft, harassment, minor accidents, hit & runs, etc.) 2) Zone 5 maintains a very active Facebook page, so feel free to follow us at: https://www.facebook.com/PghPoliceZone5/ for additional information. 3) If you know anyone who would like to receive these weekly updates, they should e-mail me with their FULL NAME and NEIGHBORHOOD of residence. Lastly, MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Zone 5 will be hosting our 2nd Annual Open House on Saturday, June 4th, from 12:00pm until 5:00pm. The event will be held in the parking lot of Zone 5. Max applience repair....warning!

I had several recommendations for Max to repair my dishwasher. When he arrived, he advised me that the work to be done to replace a water pump would be more expensive than getting a new dishwasher. That was fine but I was surprised when he charged me $79.95 to come into my kitchen, turn it on, listen to the noise and then give me the news. Jerry Schmitt

Looking for a general contractor or handyman

Looking for a general contractor or handyman for a few small projects: Replacing/re-attaching small portion of soffit/fascia that has blown off (3rd Floor) Reframe a window (rotting wood). Includes siding taken down, reframe window, seal and re-attaching the adjacent siding Slate tile maintenance (we have the replacement tiles). I think that there are approximately 3-4 tiles that need to be replaced. Chimney flashed and fixed. Thank you in advance for any recommendations. -Danielle

Hi everyone! Well thank you so much for such a kind and generous response! Here at HouseSpouse Services,Inc. we enjoy all of our Highland Park clients. Everyone is so happy! So HouseSpouse is down to three cleaning slots left for the spring season starting March 9th, 14th and 16th. We absolutely love to do these types of jobs especially the ones that are outside playing in the dirt. Pittsburgh Society of Artists New Member Screening The spring new member screening will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Drop off is from 12:30-1:00 pm at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts located at 6300 Fifth Ave in Simmons Hall. Applicants must submit 3 gallery-ready art pieces that are exclusively created by the applicant and made within the last two years. The guild offers artists in all media the opportunity to join with fellow artists in the pursuit of artistic expression. PSA is the largest guild of the Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, which offers exhibition space, teaching programs and the opportunity to sell work at the Center Shop. Since 1965, PSA has been dedicated to providing artist members with exhibition opportunities. The guild also encourages creative thinking through membership meetings, workshops, member critiques, field trips to museums, artist studios and more. recommendations for bathroom renovation?

Hi neighbors, We would like to redo a small first floor bathroom and probably replace one tub in another bathroom. Any recommendations for companies that have done bathroom renovations for you? Would be great to find someone who could offer not only excellent work, but also some remodeling ideas. A while back someone said they had a good experience with Petite Bathroom, but they weren't sure about the final expense totals - did that work out? Thanks! Kathy
