Dear Neighbor: 2pm Thursday (Today) 200 Ross St (near Mitchell's restaurant) URA Board meeting Peduto and Gilman now have formal letters supporting this ice rink/rec. center because of the massive support and activism by individuals in the East End!! As the belowarticle shows we have obstinate and entrenched support for the apartments by at least 1 board member... ironically our formal "representative" Jim Ferlo ?! Please we need as many people as possible to show it. The entire process as been rigged down to a 2pm "open" meeting. Ornaments designed and handmade by members of the PCA Ambassadors displayed on a tree at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, at Fifth and Shady Avenues, are selling for only $5 each. All proceeds from the sale of ornaments on this tree benefit the PCA school’s scholarship fund.

All- We used Zipcar in another state, and it was very convenient and easy; we were disappointed to see there are no Zipcar vehicles currently located in Highland Park. If anyone else is also interested in having Zipcar locate one of their rental cars in Highland Park, contact Richard Shelley, rshelley(a)zipcar.com , the Pittsburgh go-to person, and let him know you'd be interested in using a vehicle if located here. The company has to go through a process to assess if a car here would be feasible, but having requests from Highland Park would get the process started. best, Gina

New Ice Rink in East End - Vote TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

The URA is voting TOMORROW on whether or not to turn the Historical Hunt Armory Building on Emerson St. in to MORE apartments (like we really need that - ugh) or more offices or... AN ICE SKATING RINK!! with 140 indoor parking spaces walking track skating and yoga classes a cafe and hockey leagues Wow - that would be amazing!!! But we need to sign this petition immediately because they vote tomorrow and the more people that vote YES for the rink the better!! Help the East End!
