For those less familiar with the City of Pittsburgh budget, the Capital Budget includes items that are not purchased regularly, such as a new splash park (as opposed to items in the Operating Budget which the City pays for every year, such as police salaries). These hearings are *separate* from the 2014 CDBG Program hearings. The hearings are being held prior to the release of the 2014 draft Capital Budget to enable the City to adequately review citizen comment. Those attending the hearings are invited to comment on the use of the City’s Capital funds and other federal and state funds. Written comment may also be provided.
