Dear Neighbors, A group of us is requesting sidewalk trees for Heberton and Winterton Streets, for planting in the fall of 2011. Fyi, "sidewalk" trees are trees on the public right-of-way adjacent to your property- between the sidewalk and the curb. If you would like a free tree (or trees) (value of $500-$1,000 each) and you live on Heberton, Winterton or any corner of either of these streets, fill out the attached application and we will submit it to the City of Pittsburgh for you. The application contains more information about this City program. You can fill out the application and email it back to me (but it has to be signed), or put it in my mailbox. If you have questions, send me an email or go to the link below. What trees do for you: 1. Make your home and neighborhood beautiful 2. [Highland Park] Dog Found - Looking for Owner

Attached is a picture of a small light-brown wired-hair terrier we found outside our home on Stanton Ave (near Dilworth Elementary) last night. The dog has no tags or collar but looked well fed (and not like a stray). We think we have seen this dog in the neighborhood before but do not know who his owner is. Do you recognize this dog or know of anyone who is missing their dog? Because the weather was so cold last night, a concerned friend took in the dog temporarily while we attempt to find the owner. [Highland Park] lawn damage by motorcycle(s)

Sometime friday evening/night, a motorcycle drove onto our front lawn facing Jackson St., tearing up the grass and doing an "Evel Knevel" jump through the rock garden facing N. Euclid. There were at least two tracks so it may have been more than one cycle. I didn't think there was enough damage to call the police. I wonder if anyone else noted such goings-on. I have erected a barrier so I hope the incident won't be repeated. Richard K.

Three items for sale: 1) Adjustable Shower Curtain Rod $15. New, in package, just didn't work for what we needed. It's adjustable from approx. 30-50 inches so it's suitable for a shower stall, not a full bath. Chrome look with white fittings. Nice quality, Meusch (German) brand. http://www.vitafutura.com/rods-rings/details_spring.asp?fam=00075 2) Cordless 14.4v Black & Decker drill $10. In good condition but needs a new battery. Two torque settings for drilling and driving screws, trigger adjusts speed. Has a removable chuck that makes switching between drilling and screwdriver bits very easy. I've used it for drilling into concrete and brick (just have a good bit and make sure the chuck is closed tight!). Incl case, charger, and two old batteries (I'd be happy to recycle them at Home Depot). http://amzn.com/B00005RV8K 3) Creative Zen Micro digital music player $30. 5gb storage, FM radio. Includes charger, case, USB cable (no headphones - the originals never worked properly but I could include another set for $5). Best with Windows but there seems to be a free program to get it to work with Mac OSX (XNJB). [Highland Park] Downspout Installed

When we bought our house the rear downspout was a large piece of PVC pipe. It still is and now we need to have a proper downspout installed. Can anyone recommend a roofer/handyman who would be able to do this job as soon as possible? Thanks.
