[Highland Park] household items for sale

Dear Neighbors, Thank you for your interest in the furniture that I posted last week; it has all sold. I now have the following household items for sale. I've listed prices, but am inviting all reasonable offers. Pictures are attached. All best, Ariana - Kodak Easy Share M1020 Digital Photo Frame. It measures 10" and stores up to 1,000 photos. It comes with the home decor kit. I got it as a gift and I've never used it. It has never been opened. $100 - Ott Lite floor lamp. I bought it last summer for $129 but I only used it for a few months until I got a different lamp. It uses an OTT-Lite bulb that's supposed to be good for reading. I got them at Home Depot and use them in the basement. They work great. They both have a 10" (or longer) hose attached. Hoses included in the sale. $80 each - Scotts 16 In. Elite Push Reel Mower. I bought it at Home Depot for $90 and only used it once. $60 - About a year ago I thought I might learn to sew, so I bought this very cool antique Singer Sewing Machine from Thornton and Company in Monroeville. They serviced the machine and taught me how to do a couple of things, but I never really took it up. It comes with a copy of the original instruction manual, needles, other accessories, and a spool of thread. $50 - Space heater. I used it during two winters and it does a great job of heating up both small and large rooms. The model is: Sunbeam SLP3310-UM Low-Profile 1000/1500-Watt Convection Heater. $25 - 2004 Magnavox TV and 2003 Hitachi DVD player. They each come with their remote controls. They work perfectly. $50 for both

[Highland Park] Union Project Needs Volunteers

Union Project will be partnering with the Pittsburgh Marathon for this year’s Marathon on May 2nd, 2010. They will be serving as a water stop for runners as they pass mile 21.4 on the 25 mile run. Tables will be set up along the route with water and power bars along with a tent for any runners who need to take a break. We are looking for volunteers to help get water out to the runners. Up to 40 volunteers are needed from 7:30am – 1:30pm. If you are interested in volunteering for the Marathon at Union Project’s water stop or would like more information on Union Project’s Water Stop please contact House Manager, Allison Deasy. [Highland Park] Free: Lift Chair, Cyclone Fence

The previous owners of our home left an electric lift chair when the house was sold. The upholstery needs to be cleaned but it is in otherwise fine shape. I tested it and it does work with power assist to both lift and recline. The power assist requires electricity from a 110V receptacle. The chair is similar to a La-z-boy reclining chair. Also available is about 25 feet of cyclone fence and supports. There is some rust at the bottom of the chain link but it is not rotting through. [Highland Park] Vermicomposting

Last year I sent out an email offering to help people set up a worm composting bin. I was completely overwhelmed with the number of responses, but I'm ready to try again. Worm composting is a great way to get rid of small amount of kichen scraps, and is generally really cool. Worm castings make excellent quality compost for your garden. If you are interested in starting a worm composting bin, I will be at the Garfield Farms garden Saturday April 17th at 9am. The garden is located on the corner of Wicklow St and Cornwall St in Garfield Heights. You will need to bring the following items with you: A bin that you will keep the worms in. My bin is fairly large - 2x2x3. I would suggest a minimum size of 1x1x2 - Long base and shallow depth is better. You will want it to have a lid as well. Newspaper (I will have extra, so don't buy it if you don't already have some) Kitchen gloves (optional - you will be touching worms and their castings/fertilizer). Donations for the farm are also welcome. I will demonstrate how to set up your own bin and what has and has not worked for me over the 2+ years I've had it. You will leave with a fully functional worm bin. Please let me know if you are interested in attending, so I have an idea of how many people to expect.
