Hello Members, I am still in search of a 4 bedroom reasonably priced home in or around Highland Park! I am very ready to move. I have had a lot of great responses, but nothing has come through at this point. I am hoping the closer it gets to spring more homes will open up for rent. I have 3 small children, I would prefer a nice backyard as well. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this e-mail maybe I will find a winner:) I have searched Craigslist, Post Gazette, and more. [Highland Park] HPCC Meeting, Thursday, 19 FEB 09

Hi there Neighbors - We are indeed having another meeting tomorrow evening, Thursday, 19 FEB 09, at 7:00 PM. We have a lot of little information to pass around, as well as a Zoning Issue concerning an addition on a house on Greystone by the Park. Bob Staresinic has a few press releases from the Mayor's office, another grant from DCED to discuss, as well as Redd-Up Clean up to promote. Unfortunately we were not able to get people from ALCOSAN there this month to discuss future plans on separating the sewer system into two totally different systems, one for sewer, and the other for street drains and our rain water run off. We are still working on that for a future meeting. The meeting will be held as usual at St. Andrews on Hampton Street starting at 7:00 PM with our board meeting. Hope to see each of you there. The glass table is handmade wrought iron with glass grapes - I paid $1,400 and am selling it for $950 The wood (I think it's cherry) china cabinet - I paid $8,000 and am selling it for $4,000. These are great deals !!! Richard, Kogan , MD has thrilled audiences with his insights into the minds of composers such as Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Bernstein, and Gershwin. He has played with Yo Yo Ma and Lynn Chang. Dr. Kogan’s mother recognized his talent early on and he attended the Julliard Pre-college Program during high school. When he opted to go into medicine at Harvard, his mentor arranged for a special 5 year program to enable him to continue his concert tour. Kogan will be discussing why Mozart is generally considered the greatest of all the classical composers. "He composed flawlessly in every genre of music," Kogan said. "But what really separated him from the other titans like Beethoven and Bach is simply the way he composed. For example, Beethoven would fill up waste-baskets with discarded rough drafts before he eventually produced his masterpieces. But Mozart was capable of working out entire, lengthy, complex pieces of music in his head, even while he was engaged in other activities—playing billiards, for example." What's more, Kogan added, "Mozart was clearly the greatest child prodigy in the history of classical music. By age 5, he was already composing miniature masterpieces. At the same age he took out a tiny violin without instruction and was able to sight-read music without any errors." The Kogan program benefits the ongoing work of the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center (PPC), a nonprofit organization providing comprehensive training in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis. The Center promotes education and research in accordance with standards of the American Psychoanalytic Association and is an advocate for psychoanalytic thought and discipline throughout the Western Pennsylvania area. Its vision is to strive for excellence as an educational and training institution and as a valuable resource to the community.
