I just this morning finally got to the Arts section of the Sunday Post-Gazette and was delighted to find a really fun piece by music critic Andrew Druckenbrod on our resident ensemble the Pittsburgh Camerata, directed by good friend Rebecca Rollet. [Highland Park] Pastoral Note for Parish and Neighborhood

We remember in our best thoughts and prayers this morning our good friend and Highland Park neighbor Clarke Thomas, who died this past Saturday. We would express our sympathy, affection, and care to Jean, and to all the family. Visitation is Wednesday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at McCabe's on Walnut Street in Shadyside (behind Sacred Heart Church), and service is 5 p.m. Thursday at First Methodist, Center at Aiken. Clarke had a great career as journalist and editor, and he and Jean have been important leaders in the wider community, and exceptionally active and engaged in their retirement years. The Clarkes were regular in attendance at music and educational events here at St. Andrew's, of course, and were volunteers and supporters through the East End Cooperative Ministry and many other venues for community service. They were among the founding members of the Community of Reconciliation and both Clarke and Jean devoted much of their lives passionately to concerns for racial justice. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. The news obituary is on page B-3 of the Monday, February 23, Post-Gazette. [Highland Park] RECOMMENDING JEFF DUMM FOR COMPUTER HELP

I had Jeff Dumm (412) 773-2957 come to my home this weekend to help me reconfigure my router and set up my network. He was wonderful! After lots of hard work we are up and running wonderfully! He truly is a great guy and he won't leave until the job is done correctly and that he is sure that you are completely satisfied. I highly recommend that you call Jeff for any computer needs that you might have.

Pizza Survey With the loss of Pizzaburgh on Bryant Street, our last pizza shop is gone. You may have seen my Pizza Survey to find out where I can get good pizza close to home. I miss walking to Bryant Street to get a pizza, and Pizzaburgh had great crust. I asked for a place that was within a short drive, so I could pick up a pie and make it home while it was still hot (about 10 minutes is far enough). I received 42 responses to my email.
