Saturday while walking my dogs through the park - this was around five thirty- ----- a group of young boys (13 to 9 yrs of age) were playing in the fountain ---- the oldest one was up in the fountain diverting the water in different directions....Sometimes sitting on the fountain -- trying to hold the water down ---then he would jump up and let it spray over the walk ways --- adding to this -there were a couple of adults cheering him on and telling him what to do--how to shoot the water around.....now I don't know if it is allowed -----playing in the fountain....but I am sure that shooting the water around and annoying people like that is not....I walk my dogs through the park --sometimes two or three times a day and I have noticed whenever there is some type of wrong going on --there is never any park police anywhere.....from being there so often - I have got to know a number of people -- who are walking their dogs and there are quite.a number of them who say they do not go up there after one O'clock due to the unsupervised roudiness . That is not right - that due to a few --many are denied the pleasure of this great little escape in the city........

Hello, I own a house on Jackson Street at the end nearest to the duck pond and pool. I drove through the park (on the way to Fox Chapel) at around 7 p.m. on Saturday and then back through at about 9:30 p.m. There were cars parked up and down the street and big parties at the pavilions. Obviously it's summer time, but why are these people permitted to leave garbage all over the street and the grass? I couldn't get through the park on my way home because people had stopped their cars in the middle of the street to chat. There were also kids standing in the middle of the road, and so on. Basically I'm just wondering if people obtain permits to use the park. I enjoy walking and running through the park and taking my nieces and nephew to see the ducks. As a taxpayer I am extremely disgusted by the amount of trash people leave behind and the way they disrespect people passing through the park. [Highland Park] stolen from the garden

I recently had the hill in front of my house on Beverly Place landscaped and planted some flowering plants, shrubs and ground cover. Sometime bet. yesterday afternoon and today, someone stole an ice plant ! it has beautiful pink flowers and was perfect in that corner of the hillside. I can't believe someone would stoop to that. If you see a newly transplanted pink blossomed ice plant in the neighborhood let me know... Not likely, I realize. I feel rather vulnerable knowing that thieves would steal a small flowering perennial like that. -- Irina

I think the mosaic designs are wonderful! They're very playful, bright, and I think children will enjoy them quite a bit. It's too bad that Super Playground event conflicts with the brand new Riverview Park Heritage Day festival. I live in and am an advocate of Highland Park, but this is a big day for Riverview Park, and they have really put together a great group of (free) events for tomorrow: http://www.city.pittsburgh.pa.us/parks/html/riverview_park_heritage_day.html So, if you get a chance after the Super Playground Event, stop up at Riverview Park for the Heritage Day, it looks like it will be great!
