[Highland Park] babysitter/parenting network

good morning! i am hoping to find one or two people that are in our neighborhood (or close proximity) that could be potential babysitters for us on occasion in the evening or weekend for a few hours at a time. i know that there have been postings here and there by people who wish to provide such services. we have a one-year-old and thereby the person would need to be able to lift/carry 25 pounds. if you are interested in being on our list of possible babysitters, or if you know of someone who may be interested, please forward along information. i posted a message at the beginning of the summer regarding the possibility of starting a parenting network for the HP neighborhood. now that i am beginning to get settled into my life - new city, new job, new everything - it is something that i am seriously considering initiating for our community. please send me a quick email again if you would be interested in assisting with this undertaking. i have found the HP community to be a wonderful, welcoming place and look forward to uniting the parents here to become a resource for one another. look forward to hearing from you. sincerely, jennifer brackney

Open House for Kentucky Avenue School and Kentucky Avenue Childrens Center Saturday, November 10, 2007 10AM to 2PM Kentucky Avenue School is a small, independent school for grades Kindergarten through Eighth, located on in Shadyside. At Kentucky Avenue, our goal is to both nurture and challenge our students. We have a talented, dedicated faculty, able to work with each child to help him or her realize his or her innate potential for intellectual and personal growth. Kentucky Avenue is committed to honoring differences in learning style while promoting excellence. We have a creative and dynamic curriculum, which is able to respond to the needs of our students while inspiring them to attain new levels of mastery and understanding. The bottom line is, at Kentucky Avenue, our students experience the joy of learning. Kentucky Avenue Childrens Center has programs for children from age 2 through Pre-kindergarten.
