I'm fairly new to Neighborhood Digest and noticed there are many pets listed as lost or found. As many of you know, the Animal Rescue League will gladly check for a microchip in any animals that are found. Please remember to do a microchip check before giving the pet away to another family or person. Of course, other shelters and clinics also do this, but ARL is probably the closest to Highland Park. I know if my cats went missing, I would be beside myself and hope that anyone who found them would check their microchips. Also, if your pet goes missing, remember to call all local shelters to see if it has been dropped off there. Most will hold animals for a few days so owners can find them! -- Kate
