The good folks from Bike Pittsburgh will be our featured speakers at the Highland Park Community Council meeting to be held Thursday, November 17th. They would like to facilitate a discussion on the topics listed below. I am putting this out on the listserv now so that you have some time to think about it. I look forward to seeing you at 7 PM at St. Andrews - as always, any of you who feedback or thoughts are welcome to provide it to me at boardwalk_2000@yahoo.com. Eric Randall, HPCC President. //// It would be helpful to know what people generally think of street safety in Highland Park (for all users: motorists, walkers, bikers, wheelchair users, transit users, kids, elderly etc). Is biking generally seen as a good thing? An annoyance? Too dangerous? What would it take for people to feel safe on the streets in their community? Essentially what I want to do is facilitate a discussion that looks at the status quo and then, if there's generally a shared displeasure of the status quo, how to change things for the better.
