I second that emotion. It is a truly special place, highly recommended. Ethan Winograd

I know there are lotsof people with young kids in Highland Park, and I wanted to make sure everyone knows about a great asset of the neighborhood: St Andrew's Nursery School.
My two oldest boys have attended St Andrew's, and my third will attend next year.
Janice Burgett runs the program for 3- and 4-year-olds.
The kids do all sorts of cool stuff - right now they are eating through the alphabet at snack time, racing each other on bouncy balls and hunting bugs outside, and working on acting out "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" for their end-of-year program. They do a lot of art and a lot of reading, and, equally important, they learn to share and to interact with other kids and to follow directions: all kindergarten-readiness skills. (I often tell people that if Janice started a kindergarten, I'd be first in line to enroll my kids).
The school is currently enrolling for the fall, and if you are interested in observing, now is the time to do it.
