Hello All You Great Highland Parkers, This would be a great time to remind people to help two very worthwhile causes: Animal Rescue League and Smiley's Pet Pad. Ginny at Smiley's Pet Pad said Highland Park list readers are helping to make a difference during the Highland Avenue bridge construction and the havoc that has created for her store. Please consider stopping by there (215 South Highland Avenue) and picking up some cat or dog food or cat litter and dropping it off at the Animal Rescue League (6620 Hamilton Avenue) during their time of great need. They (ARL) are open until 7:30 Tuesday through Friday, until 5 Saturday-Monday. (412-345-7300) http://www.animalrescue.org Smiley's is open until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 5:30 Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday. If you can adopt, great, but if you aren't able to make a long term commitment please consider fostering. By getting an animal out of the shelter temporarily you make space for another who is ready for adoption and literally save lives. Contact Cleda at cklingensmith@animalrescue.org.
