There will be a singalong for fun and friendship on Wednesday December 29, 2004 Friday night at 7:30. Since we rotate hosting, this time it will be at the home of Judy Wolfson and Rob Shepherd in Squirrel Hill. We use Rise up Singing songbooks and other sources. If you don't have the book, don't worry... Someone will be happy to share with you. Accompanists (guitar or piano) are especially welcome. [Highland Park] shopping night to benefit local nonprofit

Dear Highland Park neighbors, Please check out the message below for information about how Ten Thousand Villages is helping a great nonprofit in our own neighborhood. The PULSE program houses 8 young adults every year in a mansion on Stanton Ave. and connects them into the city through seminars and work placements in local nonprofits, supporting organizations working in the arts, environment and health just to name a few. The Union Project's director and associate director (Jessica King and Justin Rothshank) both came to Pittsburgh through the PULSE program. PULSE is bringing high-caliber people to our neighborhood. In the last few years at least 7 alumni have made commitments to our neighborhood by buying homes. Come to the Ten Thousand Villages store tonight between 6 and 8 to buy unique holiday gifts and learn more about this great program. Greetings everyone! For our First Night Art Building at Dilworth we are in need of: Plastic grocery bags, newspaper, empty gallon containers, milk jugs, pop bottles & detergent bottles. If anyone has any of these items and wishes to donate to the cause please email me. Last year twelve families or so participated. We all had a fantastic time making art and getting to know our neighbors. The workshop and the entire parade will be inspired by the theme "Tales of Revelry and Peace." Participants should plan to attend the parade at 8:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve in Downtown Pittsburgh. Space is limited so register EARLY. I have a friend who likes the Highland park/Bloomfield/ Friendship / Stanton heights area and is looking for an efficiency apt with all utilities included. Beginning occupancy early to late January.
