This is your opportunity to share with the Acting Superintendent your thoughts and concerns about school closings and consolidations, reconfiguring large comprehensive middle schools, expansion of K-8's and other issues surrounding schools in our area. All, Thanks to everyone who responded to my request about rescreening our storm door. I took the screen to Bloomfield Hardware (which is an Ace) on Liberty Ave. and they did a beautiful job. It cost $15. and took about a week. Now, we are looking to replace an ancient (I think maybe original) boiler. It's one of those giant, inefficient, iron machines that creates steam heat and, when it gets going, we can probably fry an egg on it. We are trying to find a reliable, cost efficient company or person who is experienced at this to work their magic. [Highland Park] Have you lost a cat?

There is a very friendly orange and white short-haired female cat, probably under a year old, with flea collar, who has been hanging around my house on North Saint Clair near Stanton. Is she yours? While I do not have her "captured," she has been visiting every day for a week and is happy to be picked up and held. If I do not hear from anyone claiming her soon, I will probably take her to the animal shelter. I already have two cats, and as sweet as she is I really don't want another one. [Highland Park] car window smashed in park

Dear neighbors, I was at the Super Playground pavilion at midday today and one of the friends I was with had her car broken into. They smashed a window and took a bag (of books on tape). She was parked near the pedestrian underpass before the playground. There were other piles of broken glass nearby, so it may be best to park beyond the playground so you can see your car.
