A reminder to fellow Highland Park gamers, our game night is still on for 4 February 2006. Now we can think of it as a pre-Super Bowl Party. The trend is that people will be leaving their children at home, though that doesn't need to be the case. Any age is welcome. We'll provide the drinks if guests are willing to bring snacks to share. Right now, we are anticipating about 15 guests. On another note, Highland Parkers seem to be getting into positions of power. We have brought home a cute tabby kitten that is dewormed and has had his first shots. He is about 11 weeks old and was born on November 23rd. He is frisky but has a loving personality and will come with his food dish, litter box, carrying bag, food, litter and toys. We like him very much, but I am allergic to him. I have bathed him twice but it doesn't seem to help. [Highland Park] Spring Volunteer Day in the Park

Come to the park on April 1st (it's no joke!) from 9:00 am to noon to help remove garbage and invasive plant species. There are opportunities for everyone--including kids--to help improve the park. Volunteers will have opportunities to remove garlic mustard from certain areas in the park. Garlic mustard is one of the many invasive plant species that are crowding out native species in the park and it is remarkably easy (and fun!) to remove. We'll be meeting at 9:00 am at the Pool Grove shelter. Dress appropriately for the weather and the chance that you'll be getting your hands (at least!) dirty. Dennis Meyer, coordinator for the City of Pittsburgh's "Partners in Parks" program, is still looking for volunteers to help clean up the lower portion of the park near Butler Street and One Wild Place. This is a chance to clean up a part of the park that is visible from the bridge and the area near the Zoo parking lot. Historically, Highland Park has had the fewest volunteers for this program, so let's make history by turning out in large numbers. Small,solid oak classic desk, 3 drawers on both sides, IN PIECES. Family Game: wooden Carrom board/checker board, too. Comes with wooden pegs and rings and a cue stick. Rocking Chair (modern) with curly-que rockers, cane seat and back. Seat needs to be recaned. Small canvas starter golf bag with old adult clubs Delta shower head, new in a box. Black textured formica counter piece, one end rounded. 4 foot long small cherry buffet with open shelves on side plus drawers in front, needs to be refinished.
