For distribution to your friends, family, and colleagues... A reminder to....Celebrate Recycling! Join the Pennsylvania Resources Council in celebrating the official launch of the newly renovated City recycling drop-off and its "hard to recycle" collection on Saturday, July 14 Recycle-minded organizations converge this summer to offer a comprehensive recycling/reuse opportunity on July 14 from 10am until 2pm at Construction Junction (214 N. Lexington Street, Pittsburgh, 15208 - Point Breeze). The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC), in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh Recycling Division, Appliance Warehouse, and Construction Junction, is accepting major appliances including air conditioners and refrigerators, tires, scrap metal, cell phones, and ink cartridges during its "hard to recycle" collection. All materials collected will be recycled or refurbished and everything is free to drop off except tires ($1 off rims; $2 on rims; must be 18" or smaller). Additionally, PRC is partnering with the City of Pittsburgh Recycling Division to celebrate the grand opening of the City's newly renovated recycling drop-off, which is located in the Construction Junction parking lot. During regular Construction Junction store hours, individuals may drop off a number of materials for recycling at the City drop-off including: corrugated cardboard, paperboard, magazines & catalogs, phone books, junk mail, and hard cover books, plus items normally collected at the curb (bottles, cans, and newspaper). The public is welcome to stop by between 10am and 2pm on July 14 for games, giveaways, prizes and activities--fun for the whole family! Additionally, Costco will be giving out FREE cold drinks and snacks to participants! Stop by at 10am for a meet and greet with local elected officials! [Highland Park] Lost Dog

Our small-medium-sized (25lb?) white and black (actually white and dark brown that looks black) female dog named "Mocha" was either taken from our yard this afternoon or decided to suddenly run away. She's a 4 years old Pitt Bull mutt, extremely friendly, does not have her collar on but has a walking harness and has one of those id-implants, so should she be found and taken to a shelter she can be identified. If anyone has seen her please let us know. She is very loved and we miss her sorely. Hello Neighbors, Thank you to all who gave advice/suggestions for groundhog control! You were a wealth of information and good ideas. FYI I have learned: 1. You are not allowed to relocate groundhogs within the city of Pittsburgh 2. If you trap a groundhog the city will come to get it (They euthanize the animals) 3. Most "home remedies" like putting epsom salt and hot pepper flakes on your garden don't really deter the little guys Many thanks! Michelle

[Highland Park] Leather credit card holder found adjacent to the park

A few days ago I found a small leather credit card holder along Bunker Hill Road adjacent to Highland Park. All that was left in it was some stamps and a small scrap of loose leaf paper with an email address (attempts to email to the address has failed). I suspect that it was stolen and abandoned there. If it is yours, email me, and for verification include whose name is on the scrap of paper (my bet is it is probably not your address, but someone who recently gave you his or her address). --Joe
