We want to thank everyone that responded to our email concerning our Halloween display. The bones are healing and so is our spirit, thanks to the many emails and support from the people of Highland Park. We have been informed by Senator Ferlo that garbage man that assaulted us is no longer a city employee. We would also like to say that this was an isolated incident and in no way should this be held against any of the other fine garbage men that do a great job for the community. Just a reminder about the community outreach concert tonight at Peabody High School. Begins at 7:30PM, tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors and students. It is really important that we have a wonderful turnout for this event. All proceeds will benefit the music programs at Pittsburgh Public Schools Dilworth Traditional Academy and Rogers CAPA. [Highland Park] New neighbour, Mr. John.

Today, on Stanton Avenue next to the Community Gardens, a Mr. Port O. John moved in. I phoned the telephone number that's on Mr. John's house, but only received a recording to call back on Monday. While it's sitting on city/park property, I don't appreciate looking at it from my front windows (it's doesn't blend in with the fall foliage...) and it surely doesn't seem there's a need for it there. All the homes here have indoor plumbing. Also, given the vandalism of the "johns" in the park and the most recent vandalism of dozens of car windows on this street, the last thing we need is to see our new neighbour "Mr. John" on it's side. Does anyone know who within the city I should contact to find out why in the world Mr. John now resides in our neighbourhood?
