hi neighbors! i'm looking for a recommendation for someone who can draw a bathroom plan for us. we'd like to add a bathroom onto our third floor, and i think we're going to need some concrete plans before we look for a contractor. anyone have someone good they can recommend? a recommendation for a contractor would be wonderful, too! thanks! genevieve

Stations of the Cross Artistic Interpretations and Meditations March 17-21 6000 Highland Ave. (The old PNC bank building on the corner of Highland and Penn across from East Liberty Presbyterian) Every year the Open Door (a church that makes its home in the Union Project 801 N. Negley Ave.) seeks to provide an opportunity for budding, emerging and established artists to create artistic interpretations and meditations on the traditional 14 Stations of the Cross. This year we have 18 artists exhibiting. In so doing we also hope to encourage and enrich our neighborhood and its residents through the vision of these visual artists. This year our show will be in the heart of East Liberty at the old PNC bank building on the corner of Highland Ave. and Penn Ave. Stop by for a time of contemplation and reflection during holy week, the hours of the exhibit are as follows: * Monday March 17th (opening reception) 5pm-9pm * Tuesday-Thursday March 18-20, 5pm-9pm * Good Friday March 21st, 11am 8pm bj woodworth the open door 801 n. negley ave. 412-.215.6398 www.pghopendoor.org

"Something To Be Desired", a Pittsburgh-produced web series whose creator and 3 of its stars live in Highland Park, has been nominated for a Yahoo! Video Award for Best Series. A favorite Holy Saturday activity at St. Andrew's, Hampton at N. Euclid, March 22, 10:30 a.m. We prepare for the Easter Egg Hunt of Easter Day by coloring and decorating our Easter Eggs. Families (children, "with a parent or other adult") are invited. Might we suggest: bring along a dozen *hard boiled* eggs to contribute to the parish Hunt, and another to color and decorate and then take home to add to your own family's Easter Morning fun . . . . For those who would like to contribute *hard boiled* eggs, but who can't participate on Saturday morning, your contributions may be brought to the Brooks Hall Kitchen/Fridge on Thursday or Friday. [Highland Park] Eagle in the Park?

Hi Neighbors, Yesterday afternoon my husband and I saw what could have been an eagle in Highland Park, near the Super Playground. The bird was sitting on the ground near the base of a tree. At first we believed the bird was hurt because it did not move as we approached it. When we got within 10 feet, it took off with a squirrel in its talons. Clearly we had caught it mid-hunt. This bird was tawny brown all over with a very distinctive falcon/eagle head and beak. Could it be a juvenile bald eagle or some other type of bird? Thanks, Jessica Bemer Wellesley Road

[Highland Park] recommendation for washer repair

Hi all - I've found the list to be a useful resource when I've needed recommendations for various repair folk.... now I'd like to pay the kindness forward and recommend someone to the list! Save the name - James Wadding, 412 421 2368 . He repairs top loader washers (sorry, no front loaders) and dryers. He's terrific. After calling several bigger-name appliance repair numbers and getting a run-around, I called Jim on the recommendation of a friend. He diagnosed my problem over the phone, scheduled a repair call within 24 hours (over a weekend, no less!), was on time, took almost zero time to fix the machine, gave me lots of good washer/dryer advice, and charged a heck of a lot less than some of the big names in the yellow pages. What more could you want? -Helen
