Neighbors, Please join me for a Walk in the Woods on Wednesday evening, September 24, 2008 at 6:30pm. We start at the fountain, walk in the woods as much as we can, and end back at the fountain. The walk is fun for everyone but keep in mind that paths and steps in the park can be uneven. Also, at this time of year the sun will be setting already by the end of the walk. This is the last Walk of the Woods for the summer. If any walks are scheduled for fall and winter, I'll send an update. Rudy

Looks interesting. -Heidi Greetings from Pittsburgh: Neighborhood Narratives Coming Soon to a Theater Near You Collection of Short Films about Pittsburgh's Neighborhoods to Debut in Local Theaters [Click here to see the Neighborhood Narratives trailer.] <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kBlVl87xyU> Greetings from Pittsburgh: Neighborhood Narratives - a collection of nine short films in which the city plays a starring role - will make its anticipated debut at the Regent Square Theater September 25, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. Screenings will continue throughout the city until November 8. Each short film is approximately 10-15 minutes in length, and all films will be shown together at each screening. Approximate total run time: 100 minutes. Following each screening, respective filmmakers will be on hand for post-performance Q & A. Most screenings will also be followed by a reception - see complete schedule below. Neighborhood Narratives is a film featuring the work of Nelson Chipman & Jeremy Braverman (Regent Square), Jason Georgiades (Bloomfield), Matthew J. Fridg & Jenn Golling (Homestead), Timothy Hall & Marc Nieson (Hill District), Justin Crimone (Downtown), John Rice (South Side), Justin Francart (Oakland), Sam Turich & Gab Cody (Lawrenceville), and Ray Werner (Strip District). The project is coordinated by Andrew Halasz and Kristen Lauth Shaeffer. Doors open 30 minutes before each screening and tickets may be purchased onsite at each venue. Tickets may be purchased in advance only for the premiere through any Pittsburgh Filmmakers box office (during theater hours), or at their main office (during business hours) at 477 Melwood Avenue in Oakland. Seating is limited. [Highland Park] Window Repair

Hi, Does anyone know of someone reliable who could repair a window frame for me? It appears that the wood around one of my windows has moved or warped in such a way that now the frame can't hold the bottom half of the window. For anyone who needs reasonably priced, professional yard work, contact Steese at 412.404.2186. He and his crew work for a large local landscaping contractor; they are all natives of Jamaica and live on my street throughout the landscaping season. They have been doing this for years and they are reliable and trustworthy. My yard looks like a million bucks. I arranged for a delivery of mulch and bought some new plants, and they worked wonders for a great price. Because they work full-time, they hire out for Sundays, or perhaps a Saturday, though this may be rare at this time of year. Michelle Belan michelle(a)belancreative.com
