I know! Sad! Very sad especially because my mom's backyard is a cat paradise! Bottom line is they are becoming too much work for my mom, who is 73, and she'd rather save her energy and money for the twins. I told them not to do anything drastic, I would ask around first before they take them to a shelter. One is short-haired tortoise, tabby, calico mixture, the other is long-haired tortoise. Both fixed, both female, both have claws, both current on shots. They have no health problems. They are very well-behaved, litter-trained, don't spray in the house, and when let outside they come back with no problems. So if you know of anyone who may be interested, please let me know! I would take them if I didn't have a dog who hates cats. -Amanda

Hello Neighbors! It's time to split up my garden! I would like to offer an ornamental variegated grass to someone who would like to come dig it up. It's light green and white, grows quickly and could/should be split into two to three hunks once dug up. It grows about 5 feet tall and looks nice at the edge of a garden or near a structure. It can also offer you privacy or shade. You will need a decent shovel/spade to dig it up. The grass has been cut back so will be easily transportable in a large garbage bag. Hey all, My parents are moving, and we're starting on the process of emptying their house. You must pick up both of them (location is in Irwin, PA). Currently taking offers on: 1) An upright piano. Fair condition. Would need tuned if you intend to play it seriously, but generally okay. Starting at $500. 2) A fiberglass canoe. Gunwales need re-finished, and possibly replaced; otherwise, structurally fine. Handmade by a retired millworker from Ohio (how's that for unique?). Starting at $150 ($200 with set of paddles and life vests). More information, including pictures, can be made available if you express a serious interest. Hi there neighbors - We shall conduct the monthly Board Meeting this Thursday, 19 MAR 09, at 7:00 PM Sharp. General business will be discussed at this time, followed by a presentation concerning ELDI, and involvement in Highland Park. Staff from East Liberty Development, Inc. (ELDI) will give a presentation and take questions regarding development and planning efforts occurring in the East Liberty neighborhood, as well as some initiatives ELDI is partnering on in the neighborhoods of Highland Park, Larimer, Shadyside, and the Penn Avenue Arts District. Specifically, ELDI would like the HPCC's input regarding tree plantings and bike lane installations for 2009 that span both East Liberty and Highland Park.
