Cindy is a superb singer, guitarist, songwriter, and multi- instrumentalist. Grey is one of America's finest players of the Irish flute and tin whistle, as well as an accomplished singer and concertina, fiddle, piano and harmonium player. As composers each has contributed to the unique tapestry of contemporary folk and world music as it exists and flourishes in America today. Together, they weave songs and tunes of vibrant color and rich texture. Here is his description: Intermediate and Advanced Irish flute and Tin Whistle $30, or $25 if you also attend the evening concert. This workshop is for intermediate and advanced players of both Irish flute and tin whistle. Irish (wooden) flute and modern "Boehm system" flute players are both welcome. Whistle players need to bring a D whistle, and flutists can play tin whistle in the workshop if they prefer. You should be able to play at least a handful of Irish traditional tunes at a moderate speed. We will delve deeply into traditional Irish phrasing and ornamentation, as well as breathing strategies that enhance the phrasing and clarity of the music. No music reading is necessary, though handouts will be available. Emphasis will be on technique over repertoire. Feel free to bring an audio recording device to record the workshop if it is for your own use only. Copies of Grey's books will be available: The Essential Guide to Irish Flute and Tin Whistle, and The Essential Tin Whistle Toolbox. Grey also hopes to have some Terry McGee "Grey Larsen Preferred" flutes on hand, available to try or purchase.

I will echo part of the post quoted below. Frequently kids moving through the neighborhood will confront folks in their yards or on their porches needlessly with invective and often with threats. A lot of times they appear to be returning from the HP swimming pool, so perhaps it would be possible to request an occasional police presence for a while after the general swim ends. My own strategy is to make no response whatsoever, but all that does is prevent my own blood pressure from rising - it doesn't prevent your children from being showered with curses or threats, etc. Another concern is that these kids are often walking right down the middle of the streets, and as we all know, many drivers (ESPECIALLY on weekend afternoons) operate their vehicles unsafely through our residential neighborhood, with only luck preventing them from killing pedestrians.
