I too grew up in a community where we didn't lock our cars or house doors. This was many years ago in a suburban neighborhood. We do not live in those times nor do we live in that type of neighborhood. Every time someone leaves their door unlocked and one robber can get into the car or house, it reinforces the idea that they can succeed at their task. So the next night they come back and try again in the same place. If we want perpetrators to stop robbing our cars and homes we need to follow certain principals every time. We need to take valuables out of our car daily, lock our doors always and use our outside lighting to deter possible robbers. It only takes a moment to lock your car. Hey all, We are renovating our kitchen and have placed outside at the curb, our old kitchen. It is reminiscent of the 1970's :)...darkish wood laminate cabinets, stainless steel sink, and light colored laminate counter top. If it isn't taken in the next couple days, we plan on taking it to Construction Junction. Look for it at the corner of Bryant and Winterton...1136 Winterton is our address. I just wanted to report that we also had our unlocked car rummaged through Thursday night/Friday morning. Only our car. It looked like they were looking for loose change, or were in quite a hurry. Having recently heard a presentation from a Board of Education representative at a community meeting, I am aware that they offer a number of avenues for parents to learn about the schools. In addition to their online descriptions and a paper guide, the Pittsburgh Public Schools offer open houses, bus tours and names of current parents who are willing to speak about their experience. Hi Neighbors - My family is moving on October 26th and we have two dressers and a casement unit air conditioner that we are not taking with us. One of the dressers is a birch colored wood baby dresser. It has a changing table on top of three drawers and a cabinet on the right side. The drawer bottoms are coming out of two drawers, but you could fix that. The other dresser is a large (short and wide, not tall and narrow) chest of drawers, dark wood. I've received a few responses to my previous attempt to find a recommendation for a reliable local dry cleaner. I want to thank those who responded, but I have had bad luck with the cleaners that were recommended.
